How To: Headunit firmware & GPS navigation maps update

depends on what "very different" is to you. Like @Jajodu mentioned, there have been several updates where not only the volume changed significantly but also the equalizer behavior. I at least won't updated my navigation software for a few months, maybe years, since I otherwise have to retune my DSP every time.
Just from the volume perspective. As I said, before update when I was cruising the volume for me was perfect at 15, now for the same I need to set it at 25.
Below 10 I can barely hear some music.

Yes, I can agree that the new interface is polished and there's a fresh feel of it.

Edging on the end of June and still no update for the Gen5w
Is there confirmation that it will include full screen AA?
That's honestly my only complaint about the system.
The integrated maps are actually great and look really good... But I still prefer Waze through AA.

Non N cars have reported that fullscreen AA is possible, so i hope this is also the case for the N's.

AA will be getting a new UI in the near future codenamed "coolwalk"

One simply question - I saw that I can use typical pendrive for update - someone did update that way ?
I think my usb pendrive is much faster than stock SD card in the car (even if the usb port is 2.0 = max 30MB/sec).

That doesn't work for the pre-facelift, as far as I know. Only way is via SD card for our models.

What instructions are given in the update website? I'd follow them to the letter if you don't want to brick your head unit.

I think it was my mistake - instructions on their www site say about usb or sd card but in the navi updater there is only SD card possibility.

Their info on the site is more universal for all cars and have some mistakes - for example - check how the standard navi gen5 looks on the site - just like in FL (3D icons and great colours) but when you download the program you can see that gen5 is grey and old.....

That depends whether it is the compact 7 inch screen or the standard 8 inch screen. The standard has the new look, the compact does not.

On the hyundai www site there is info that i30n 2017+ cars have Standard-class Gen5 Navigation.
Downloader and his manual show how to update it with images from Compact Gen5 Navigation......
And my car navi look exactly like Compact version images....always grey and flat icons.

Just updated and yeah, fs aa finally. But I have to ask, are two apps always present at the same time? I have Google maps and Spotify, both are shown simultaneously and you can easily switch between them from left big part of the screen to the smaller right part but I also kind of thought you can have only one app over entire screen? I haven't found an option for that...Is that even possible? Thanks
