Hyundai i30 N Performance Exhaust Valve Issue
I have a 2019 Hyundai i30 N Performance Fastback and I’d really appreciate your help, as I’m not sure what else I should check. On the 25th of last month, I replaced the exhaust valve spring because it had become weak and the valve was making a rattling noise. I installed an upgraded spring, and everything seemed to be fine after the replacement.
Now I’m experiencing the following symptoms:
- Engine off: the exhaust valve remains open.
- When starting the car: the valve performs its self-test.
- Engine running: the valve remains partially open.
- If I switch the driving mode from Normal to N / N Custom, or vice versa, the valve doesn’t move at all (it doesn’t open or close).
- I also reset the car by disconnecting both the positive (+) and negative (-) battery terminals for 25 minutes. After that, it doesn’t make any pops at all anymore.
What else should I check, or what tests could I perform to identify the problem?
Any suggestions or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
