Drying using a blower

Sorry I am too old school for this technology. I would worry it will throw contaminants at the car. I still use a chamois. My only tip is to keep the chamois very clean otherwise you can get surface scratches. I have been looking at some YouTube videos on detailing and towel drying seems popular. Microfibre towel I believe. Might try that on my current car and see how it works out before my N is delivered.

I use both of these products:

Work better than a chamois imo

I've bought a couple bulk packs of microfiber clothes from Costco and they work out to be about like 62c per cloth?

I use them on the car once and then I either scrap them or used them for wheels or interior if its clean enough. I just was looking at the air dryers and I was told they work pretty well and dont leave those waterdrop marks since even in winter right now, I've been trying to use the snowfoam, then rinse and dry but it drys so quickly my whole car has the dried up water droplets on every panel and window.

I find that a good quality microfibre is far better than a Chamois leather... Stopped using those years ago... Microfibre soaks up more water... Much kinder to the lacquer finish... and easier to wring out the water.

OK, so you have all convinced this old timer. No chamois will touch my N. Its microfibre for me and the Micron Grey all the way. Still not sure about the blow dryer though. Just feels like the difference between an auto trans and a manual box. I want to touch and engage in the cleaning process as well as the driving one. That sounds a little too creepy when I read it back. ehhh! o_O

Im in brisbane, i use my 18v ryobi garden blower lol. Works a treat! But i also have opticoat pro+ paint protection so water literally slides off it..i dont wipe at all. Pressure hose, snow foam, pressure hose, quick hand wash with mocrofibre mitt, pressure hose then blow dry..comes up mint

Must say... I've never felt the need to give my car a blow job yet...;)Perhaps I'm missing something. :D

I don’t have a need for a blower because I don’t wet wash any of my cars anymore. All of my cars are now cleaned inside the shed with a waterless wash. Once you can get your head around the idea of using a spray & wipe type product you realise how good it works & how easy life could’ve been years ago if I started using these products sooner.
Also, any chamois will leave swirl marks in your paint. Doesn’t matter what brand or quality chamois you use, it will damage your paint. Only use microfibre cloths.

A blower is the safest method to dry your car, and a lot of detailers use both blowers to get water out of hard to reach areas and conventional drying towels too.

I use an Autofinesse Aqua Deluxe drying towel, by far the best towel on the market and a reasonable price to, will easily dry and entire car without needed to be wrung out!

So do you just get a cloth, and do each panel one at a time?
I've never even thought about doing this. Does it take longer?

I just talked with the car detailers at my dealership.

At work he does not have a blower to use so he will just use a micro-fibre shammy to dry off the cars.

At home he will use his own blower to dry off cars more quickly and said that It is helpful in getting water out of tight areas where you cant reach with a cloth or shammy.

He suggested getting shammys from: https://www.meguiars.com.au

They are a bit pricey but he swears by them and says that they are what he uses on all of his cars.

Hope this helps.

I spray & wipe with one microfibre & wipe dry with another microfibre. It is a lot quicker cleaning my cars this way. I really wish I’d started cleaning my cars this way years earlier. The spray I use is NoH2O, works brilliantly.
