Just spent two weeks touring the Canadian Rockies in a NIssan Pathfinder hire car.Although a comfortable car I couldn't help thinking from time to time wish I was in my i30N. Do others get withdrawal symptoms too!

I’m in a normal i30 at the moment and I miss it.. only been 5 days!

I’ve been away for the last two weeks, flying home tomorrow’s to see my beast, I’m gonna be the drive home

Nice!, there’s some awesome mountain roads in Mallorca so wish I had the N there, would have been perfect

Always take my N with me to the airport for business trips. Something to look forward to when returning to the U.K. to drive her home :)

I was i Prague for a week. Did not miss my i30N, because of a lot of city driving and the very many big/deep potholes in the city roads. Would be a nightmare with the 19 inch rims and manual.

Would be awesome with the Sport+ exhaust in the city and tunnels though :)

Had a cheap Golf with automatic and baloon tires (15 inch rims). Loved to pick up my car when we got back to Norway again. Felt as tight as a race car, after the rental Golf.

Absolutely. A comfortable SUV makes long road trips easy, but it rarely gives the same sense of connection that an i30N does. The steering, the exhaust, and the way the car responds to inputs are hard to replace. Sometimes the rental becomes part of the vacation, though, choosing something a bit more engaging can make a huge difference. Browsing options on: https://peacock-rentals.com, before a trip gave me the idea to pick a car that matched the driving roads rather than just the luggage requirements.

That said, the Canadian Rockies are probably one of the few places where a Pathfinder still makes a lot of sense. Plenty of space, comfortable over long distances, and less stress on rough roads. The funny part is that getting back into the i30N afterward usually makes it feel even better, tighter, sharper, and more special than before the trip.
