Dirty MAP Sensor / oil consumption

Still, not saying that this problem is maintainnce related, but I don't get it, It should be the same for all Europe. I had a talk with someone yesterday and as far as he knows if you're not on time for maintenance then you'll have "problems" with your warranty. Let's just say that's an official statement. So to prevent that please double check the intervals in your manual and your dealership. Just trying to help in case you got this wrong, nothing more. :)

In my owners manual it's clear, and Hyundai told me exactly the same too.

I was told the exact same thing when I bought the car, to bring it to maintenance every 10k kilometers. I think it's ridiculous, even for a performance car 10k maintenance interval is unnecessary. But with this they obviously fund the 5 year warranty (I got 7 years, was a campaign here in Finland). But that's a price you have to pay with this car

My first maintenance is on 5000km. This was set by the dealer. After that every 15000km. However i wont wait this long. I do all my maintenance myself on my Honda's. I know 10000km is ideal. Longer and the oil gets sticky. Just my experience

That is exactly the sort of matrix that I would expect to see. In the UK Owner's manual there is no such table and only reference to the service record book. This for me is unacceptable.
For example you can see spark plugs every 50,000 miles. UK only says "Make sure to install new spark plugs of the correct heat range. Don't touch them while they're hot ". That's it, no mention of replacement interval anywhere.

You guys really need to follow a 3-4000 mile oil change interval on these engines. The oil gets diluted with gas since its GDI. Running 6-10k miles on oil changes is not safe no matter what the manual says. And the first should have been done around 1-2000 miles after break in. This is a performance car, never follow the long oil change intervals the manual says, its just not safe.

I can agree and also not with your point. Everything depends of usage of car. People who are driving long distances and are not using even 50% of cars potential, doesnt need to change oil after 3000-4000 miles. People who have lots of short drivings or driving sometimes on track, must change it after each 3000 miles. I made my first oil change on 1000km and next one will be done on 6000km mark (after each 5000km-s).
