I have often heard in many threads that some of us use different diagnostic Readers / OBD2 Interfaces / Windows / Android / iOS and MacOS Software. This thread is a collection to share information / Advantages and Disadvantages of different Devices / Software and methods. Maybe that's how we get a bit closer to coding / Programming. An exchange of experiences would be helpful. Maybe you can also say something about the scope of the functions.

Sharing information also means not posting illegal software offers or promoting clones of copyright protected devices.

Personally using some cheap 10€ Bluetooth OBD2 Dongle with Torque Pro, but have yet to figure out how to do more than read out some values and check/clear error codes.

I’m only interested in logging engine and other functional PIDs for performance evaluation.

OBDLink MX/LX is the fastest Bluetooth OBD-II reader and Torque Pro is the monitoring standard for enthusiasts without spending a ton on professional gear.

Most everything ICE-related is CANBUS-controlled, so good luck getting access to that. Nobody solved it on the VT1 platform.

Never heard of Launch until now and the legit variants are incredibly expensive with their subscription-based garbage. No thanks.

Keep sending emails to Ian Hawkins to ask him to add Torque Pro support for i30N & VN as I requested here:

The more people banging on his door, the better.

But you need an iPhone for that and the asian car package, don't you?
No. You can use android device if you want but diagnostic head is different for iOS and android. You must remembert about it when deciding to buy. You only buy the brand that interests you. 60$ each brand with 12 month updates.

I'm inrterested in this device
Carman Scan AT Diagnostic Tester
The website https://www.hickleys.com/diagnostics/carmanscanat.php
Says it has full OE capabilities for Korean vehicles, has anyone had any experience of this tool, it will be used on my i30N and my wifes Kia Stonic 1.0GDI.
I want to be able to do procedures like auto opening of all the windows via the key fob and for general diagnostics and fault finding including actuator tests.

I have a lot testers. I use carman i700 or Launch X431 for Asian cars.
I'm looking at a
Launch X431 V+PRO +
Will this talk to the I30N and do things like change the opening of the windows via the lock key etc? I've spoken to the importer and he says that I need to ask someone who has got one of these tools to know for sure whether it does what I need.

Coding possibility by Launch X431 in N cars. Korean cars don’t give big coded possibilities not like BMW ;-(

Some more research shows that G scan tool is the one I need, apparently they write the software for Kia and Hyundai, not cheap but it runs on a Windows PC or tablet . Hickleys do them.

It looks like it doesn't give any more options than the ones you can access normally via the SWC. I think I'll go for the G -scan tool which offers OE functionality. Thanks for taking the time to show those screenshots and it saved me wasting money on a device that wouldn't do what I wanted. It's much appreciated.

I have access to G-scan and I know that there is not one more option there. Some functions are reserved only for OEM software.
