Are there any carbon or fiberglass hoods for the i20N? The stock one is quite heavy and the car takes a while to cool down since it had no hood vents. Are there any plans for custom hoods in the future that you guys know of?

There’s always a possibility of such. It takes the aftermarket a while to catch up, so I wouldn’t be looking for anything real soon. Might be as much as a year or so.

The manufacturer had to acquire the part first, the use of as a template for scanning and mold production.

There are CF vent kits available but this requires cutting the OEM bonnet.👍🇺🇸

I have a carbon fibre hood on my i20N - but it’s not quite as simple as that. A number of people claim to sell a CF hood for the i20N but going from the pictures I have seen they are all made by the same Chinese company - available from the source via Alibaba (where I got mine) or secondary sellers via AliExpress. There is one exception and that is the Greek guys the Car Jackals - but I’ve only seen pictures of theirs and I don’t think it’s yet available.

Now my CF hood is a mixture of a true CF top with a glass fibre underside - this is true of all the available hoods except for the Car Jackals which looks to be 100% CF. As a result of being half CF and half GF it’s not as light as a full CF hood but t is lighter than the stock one (I don’t know by how much as I fitted it too quickly to weight it!).

As 9DragonsArt says, the Chinese hood is available in three versions, no vents, twin vents and one big vent.

I’ve written much more about it on the thread dedicated to my car.
