Brake pads

Not happy with breaks on the car. I have the car from 1 month 1100km and the breaks are worse than many other normal cars. I still not push the car really to the end but not feeling good bite when touching break pedal is soft and lazy... not like sport car. Or maybe I have very high expectations.

You will get used to it after a while. Big piston much brake fluid travel, standard stuff no braided lines. The inital bite on my daily bitch and brakes at all are much better.

any updates. on this? I am looking for brake pads before going to nurburging for some laps.

Would I have any issues if I run stock rotors with after market brake pads?

I have Endless M22 on the back and N39S on the front wich stock discs installed … works great with 225/40 R18 TOYO R888R tires.

With 215/40 R18 Michelin Cup 2 i would try the M22 also on the front.

how's the 225s? did u do any circuit laps? If so, did you notice any difference on how the car behaves in the corners compared to the 215?

Well, the 225 where installed on heavier rims, so the maximum speed on the straight was 5 km/h less than with the lighter 215 tires…the lap-times where nearly identical due to better corner speed especially in the corner entrance.

I can’t report from own experience, but I think the stock pads and the stock cooling should be sufficient for some laps on Nordschleife.

Just have in mind, that the stock pads melt like chocolate in your hand.

When the sensor indicates ‘check pads on track-use’, there are still a few millimetres…

When the metal-contact starts scratching on the disc, it is time to change…

I read that stock pads can leave residue on the rotor and wear the rotor even more.
I was considering getting some endless pads . They are quite pricey though.
And of course change the brake lines

We at EBC Brakes have recently just launched our Yellowstuff brake pads for the i20N.

Front pad part number: DP42500R, rear Yellowstuff pads will be available soon!

@EBC Brakes UK your input is wanted regarding the claimed pad temps of your different product lines. Seems like your cheaper "tuning" pads outperform your professional racing products line temperature and friction wise...

If your going off the graph in the 1st post then its wrong.
Max temps are
Yellow 450c
Blue 550c
Rp-1 & rp-x 800c
SR11 - SR21 900c

For me, the stock braking is decent but the pads last 2 tracks, I sent the stock ones to Japan, to Winmax and you can now order all the compounds for the i20n, I built a W5, endless fluid and stock disc and the car brakes a lot, I was close to under8 in nur
