Battery needs replacement

I just had a warning light in my 2025 Ioniq 5N with only 2100 miles on it. The warning said "check electrical system" per the manual I was to take it to the dealer to check on the problem. Well, I'm told that some battery cells are not communicating and the entire High Voltage battery had to be replaced. OY!
Supposedly new batteries are available in the US so the approximate wait time is a couple of weeks. We'll see.

Has anyone else had this king of problem?

Sorry to hear about the battery failure, no problem with mine here at about 15k miles. Please keep us updated on the replacement process, a couple weeks wouldn't be too bad, hope they keep it relatively short.

Well, I just saw a youtube video by the Ioniq Guy who also had a battery failure seemingly very similar to mine with his Ioniq 5 (not N). He had his battery replaced in two weeks, but thought that the quick replacement was a result of his being a Youtube influencer. However, the car still had problems and he is very unhappy with his car being out of service now for quite some time and having to take it back for further service.
Interestingly I have heard nothing further from my dealer regarding the progress of getting the battery. I am attributing it to the holiday season, but we'll see. Prior times when the car was in for service I was receiving daily updates via text and email. The service was for very annoying trunk hatch rattling which I also had in my previous Ioniq 5. From other posts on this forum and on the ioniq 5 forum it seems that that is a prevalent problem. I wonder why Hyundai has not fixed this problem during their assembly process? Anyway, I'll update as I receive more information.

Yikes, that’s tough for a new car. Sometimes a few miscommunicating cells can trigger a full HV battery replacement. Ask the dealer if a software update or module reset could prevent future issues and keep all warranty records handy.

Over a month into this fiasco, is Hyundai making any progress?

2025 5N 6000 miles, bought in June 2025 900 miles on it from dealer 2 weeks in had to be lifted to Tilbury for battery replacement they wouldn't or couldn't tell me what the actual issue was for then the LED'S in passenger door card failed in November 25, then to top it all battery management light come on again Jan 26 and now being lifted to Tilbury again for same issue not best pleased so will be writing a polite email to Hyundai UK as dealer has been fairly good but i feel product is not great .

Just got news a few days ago, battery is bad and needs replacement. The battery was supposed to be here by the end of this week, so hoping to be back on the road sometime next week, fingers crossed.

Interesting to see that there are so many battery failures in low mileage cars?! My battery replacement went very smoothly and took less than 2 weeks. Car seems fine. We'll see how it holds up.

Battery was replaced this week. I'm out of town for another week, so I won't get to try it out, but the service rep says everything works perfectly. Here's hoping this one holds up.

Got the car back yesterday (was out of town for a few weeks and had my detailer pick it up and do a paint correction and ceramic coat). Had one minor issue with the coolant not being bled properly, but the dealership pulled me right in and corrected that this morning, and I’m back in business. Now I have to remember everything I read in the manual three months ago, LOL. Range is back to normal and charging is as well. Here’s to a trouble free rest of my ownership!
