Air Con/ECO mode question

Yesterday while doing a 90 minute motorway drive, my (normally very powerful) air con went very weak after about an hour leaving me sweltering for the last half hour. Later that evening all was back working well on a short drive. I googled today and AI suggested that it may be because my preferred Eco mode of driving had decided to save power and that the solution is to switch to an alternative driving mode to restore full power.

Can anyone confirm if this is definitely the case for the i20N? Unfortunately I'll have to wait for it to happen again to test it and don't want to be in the middle of a 4 hour drive at 38C when it does! Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that in the manual it states that whilst in eco mode one the things that are adjusted to eek out mpg is the air con. It dials back on its operation and in our recent weather I guess it becomes apparent.

Thank you. RTFM! It just hadn't happened before in 3 years of ownership. Ready next time it happens.. which could be soon.
