Hi everyone,

I am looking to have my resonator delete.
If you have any experience, who do you recommend to do the job and how much do they charge?

Main concern to hold me back from doing it since delivery of the car is that .. N mode is for sure great without resonator but would like to hear some feedback in normal mode compare to stock.

Thanks all

Had it done. I like it.

Only ever use Normal mode when the boys in blue are around.

Only ever use N mode on the track, pops were loud with resonator, and too loud with no resonator for road use.

I use Custom, with engine set to Sport+ and exhaust set to Sport. Exhaust burbles a lot in throttle lift off, and is reasonably quiet unless you use full throttle.

I wanted to upgrade to the X-Force catback system, but the loss of steering wheel control of the exhaust was a BIG no for me. Bluetooth control of the valve may be very fancy, but touching your phone whilst driving is illegal.

Cost me about $120 I think. I didn't bother to have flanges put on the resonator and exhaust for easy re-fitment, I won't be refitting it, and I have voided the exhaust warranty, even if I do put it back. Any decent exhaust shop with Stainless Steel welding experience can do it.

Remembering I have also upgraded the dog-bone bushing to Powerflex 80 Purple (which reduces wheel-hop considerably, and increases NVH slightly) I think the exhaust is fine in Normal mode, maybe 10% louder, but very quiet compared to N Mode. No drone to speak of.

Overall, very happy...

Thanks for your detailed reply and May I know where did you get it done? Do they use stainless steel material?

I had mine done by Alec at Mr. Muffler in Sumner Park. He is also an X-Force installer. good guy!

Yes, stainless steel...

Thanks for your comments Corsa59. I am also considering with the hope it would increase burble on off throttle and add a bit more depth the to exhaust note without the expense of a full aftermarket exhaust. I was concerned re drone in normal mode and hoping the change would be minimal in normal mode for the country runs up the highway or trips with family who ask for a smooth quiet ride where I tend to stick it in normal mode. I do tend to drive around a lot in custom with the engine and exhaust in sport plus because I enjoy driving and listening to my car and we can always press the button back to normal if asked;).

Anything you can add or anyone else with comments would be great. Also if anyone has done this in north brisbane and can recommend a workshop.

Also you mentioned the dog bone bushing. I was at a tech talk last weekend in Brissy where the Hyundai chap mentioned that you needed to change front suspension bushings to help with wheel hop but I have heard others mention the dog bone engine mount as a solution for this also. Can you give some more info on the Powerflex 80 Purple, cost, where from etc and how effective it has been.

Thx
