Hi,
My drivers side wing mirror has split at the crease by reversing into a brick pillar. The automatic in and out still works when I lock my car and from the driver door button. The mirror glass is untouched. However the case and indicator plastic glass has snapped. I had a quote for a replacement from Richmond Hyundai farlington for £895 and then £250 for labour. Is there anything I can do to fix or replace for less? Obviously I want OEM. Thank you in advance!!!

Mirror can be found here or by searching on eBay for "hyundai i30 pd side mirror right"

Note that it does not matter if you buy one for the N or any other i30 PD - series car. However the N needs one with the LED indicator strip in it which costs 15£ more than the standard mirror without.

Most of the time people try to upsell you on such parts because you drive the most expensive version of the i30, but basically any part from a standard i30 PD should fit on the N and vice-versa. This means for most body parts that are identical you can just buy one from the normal i30 (like doors, mirrors, windows, hood, ... ). Just be careful not to buy one that has differing features from your car (like the mirrors without indicators, head-/taillights with incandescent bulbs, ... ).

Also since you drive a PolarWhite i30N it's easier for you to get replacement parts because its a quite common color on the i30 PD.

Thanks for this - that’s a great help!!! I will look into this tomorrow, thank you

Just noticed that only the clear cover over the indicator strip and the back plastic is broken, so you might get away with only replacing those which should cost you around 40-60£ if you're lucky.

And no probs :D

Would you say get these parts from the parts at hyundai? Or from the website you provided earlier?

Thanks again

I'd try to get 'em from the website, however they seem to be out of stock. Maybe try your luck on eBay. Also took another closer look and you can probably get the back plastic cleaned and then reformed with a hairdryer, leaving you only with the damaged LED-strip cover.

That price is absolutely disgusting!!
How can Hyundai justify £895 for a wing mirror?
Feel for you. Personally, I would put black insulation tape over the gap and keep my money in my pocket.

250 quid for a 15 min job....o_O
Did you buy your car at a dealer or a stealer?

Open your door, there is a plastic triangular trim,
with a little force you can pull this trim of.
underneath there are 3 bolts 10mm and a connector.
release the connector, turn out the 3 bolt.
Now there is a little trick! On the inside there is a white plastic clip with a schrew.
turn out the schrew pull the plastic clip and release your mirror from the door.

Now when you put back the mirror first mount the plastic white clip than put the mirror back on the door.
This clip prevents the mirror for falling off the door when you mount it.
put back bolts, connector and trim.
Done!

There was someone on ebay that had a N for breaking, this is the guy.

just contact him, who knows!
otherwise you can have a look on Allegro.pl

The mirror linked by Nullobandito will fit when you order the correct one but isnt painted.

Wicked! I have a friend who has rebuilt cars and loves fiddling with parts and cars so I will take these instructions along with me when I go visit him this weekend. Thanks for your help!

I bought my car brand new from a Hyundai dealer, the same one who quoted that price.

@tomalarrr have you tried ringing other dealers? That seems extortionate to be honest and they may quote you a better price for the parts. It doesn’t look like there’s much on eBay atm either. Surely they just sell the casing rather than having to buy the whole thing.

I'll give it a go today! eBay has nothing for me!

if you want to repair it like nothing was happend you need to chanche the compleet unit.
The matt black is also cracked and as you can see on the immage this is the housing.

You"ll need the one with the puddle light.
the one on autodock is not the correct one, its says 5 pins.thats to less

Thanks for this!! Hyundai seem to be really reluctant to telling me the part number before I saw this... not sure why, was abit weird. I can get a side repeater for £85 from Hyundai. Might give that a go and see what i can make it look like. Thanks all. Will post pictures when I attempt the fix!

https://www.autodoc.co.uk/alkar/13917439 there is a new one too.

I don't think I would change the whole unit, as you said, it's still working. Maybe someone knows if they (Hyundai) have any part numbers for the plastic covers, there you had to replace only 3 plastic things (and maybe the LED bar)?

Yeah going to do exactly this mate! Just gonna try and fix half/parts of it rather than replace whole unit
