These standard tyres are hard rubber if the tyre skipping/banging is anything to go by every time I pull off my drive on full lock.
Yes there are loads of posts regarding this for the Kona N and i30N and it seems nearly all these vehicles clonk on full lock - something to do with the Ackerman effect I understand.
Basically it is caused by a combination of steering/suspension/LSD geometry which is optimised for handling at higher speeds

and NOT for slow speed full lock turns!
It seems the Pirelli P Zeros also exacerbate the problem due to the harder compound they use, especially in the cold weather but then again I think summer tyres are only rated down to 8 deg C so they are well out of their comfort zone at the moment.
There are quite a few owners that have changed tyres and found this diminishes or greatly reduces the noise especially with CC or AS versions.
Mine also makes this embarrassing noise especially when I reverse off my drive just as the inner tyre drops over the very small edging lip onto the tarmac - than I have to pull forward on opposite full lock and the other tyre starts jumping. Much worse in this cold weather. (Narrow private cul-de-sac road so I have to drive to the turning bay at the end which involves even more clonking!)
It seems there are many cars that exhibit this behaviour and I got interested in the MB GLC some while ago and there were a multitude of complaints on various forums about this phenomena (seemingly only RHD versions) and the response from MB was basically "go away and fit winter tyres"! Problem is, that did not seem to cure it!
I kept my PZeros on from 1st March (pick-up) until late August, whereupon I swapped them out for a set of CC2 on the 19" OEM rims.
Very interested in the CC2 fitted on the OEM rims as I was having similar thoughts myself - they are flipping expensive though.
Did you notice whether they are less noisy/more compliant/as grippy (in the dry) as the Pirelli? What is the wear like so far?
