So this is pretty simple, takes less than 5 mins. Get down to the valve actuator, undo 3 x 8mm nuts, (i think its 8) pull the actuator off and this is what you'll see:

Then this is the base, you can see the two slots the spring sits in, this is what the spring turns to open/close the valve:

Then rip out the old one and bang in your new spring, they just clip in and out:

Then put it back together. You dont really need to worry about seating the spring in the slots. It will land in there and once you start the car you will hear a click and the spring is where it wants to be.
Don't worry if you lose some exhaust sound..... The spring is new and more rigid and needs a couple of days to settle. The sound will come back.

This mod will add 20 HP instantly 😁

So if you have an issue do they just replace the actuator that has the same designed spring? (i.e wont it just happen again after a while)

Which spring did you fit as i've seen 2 sellers at vastly different prices

I used the one from Cherry Tuning:
I would just go the cheapest option once you factor in shipping etc

This is interesting because in an older post, it was established that the spring depicted in the Cherry Tuning page is actually the same style as the one installed in the older i30N's that failed and that the upgraded one is the same style as the one you've taken out... I'm fairly certain the i20N was given the newer style spring to counter this issue and now you may have put the older 'inferior' one back in? I could be wrong though.

The spring in @izybluffen photos at the top, is the OEM spring as in ever model N-Peformance model. No sorry, it’s not the OEM spring from the earlier model i30N or VN which both utilized.

The spring pictured below in the same post is the upgraded unit available from ASR, Cherry Tuning and one other. There are some variations of upgraded units as well.

What he’s installed, is in fact an upgraded spring.👍🇺🇸

My apologies, thank you for the clarification, the post in the other forum may be incorrect then 😅

Correct and Cherry tuning is selling the ASR spring.

Hello, I have changed the spring for the asr component one but after two or three months it has sounded again, is it normal, or was it defective? I have bought it again, if it happens again I will buy the one with rpm

Why don't you just get hyundai to replace the unit under warranty?

Those 2 look different from each other. Which one is the best?
