Hey guys!

Member here from Brisbane, Queensland in Australia here! Long time car guy with a range of vehicles I've owned from a Focus RS to a C-Class to a 1st gen Veloster Turbo and much more. Usually switch around cars a bit but with my new N I've found a car I want to keep longer term. I'm not doing a huge amount of modifications to any engine stuff for the moment while I'm still in the warranty period for safety but I'm iterating on a few other items around the car to personalise it and make it my own.

As I go I'll add photos and updates as I do them but for the original post here's a couple of shots of when I picked it up!

See you all around!

Some photos from a rear angle after a few basic things being done:
- 20% tint all around
- black and white plates
- 15mm wheel spacers

(Don't crucify me over the spacers! Made sure they were super mild width to get them nicely lined up with the guards, are hub centric so no movement and are the bolt on style as opposed to sleeve style so there is no reduction in stud length)

Last update for now. Did some artsy ones at sunset the other day which coincided with the Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs being fitted and allowed a day/two settle and drop a little more.

And just a few more fun edits making the car look almost like red chrome with the greyscale background to make it pop!

What mm springs did you get? Keen to see how it looks settled, definitely want to lower mine soon too.

Hopefully see you at an Aus N meet soon now we are unlocking!

These are the Eibach Pro-Kits which are an advertised 15-20mm drop. I didn't want something monstrously low as I daily this and really not keen on police attention but I did want something that looked nicer to get rid of the wheel gap without sacrificing ride/handling. Happy to say the Eibachs feel super nice on the road (better than stock) but as they're progressive springs when you lean on them they firm up so you don't sacrifice handling. If you want lower options I think the H&R and Whiteline springs drop you a bit lower. If these don't drop much more I'd still be happy as I love how it looks right now but another 5mm wouldn't be unwelcome 😜

Hope to see you around at a meet some time!

Nice car, I ordered the same model in Dark Knight today and I'm also from Brisbane. First thing I want to get done is drop it ~20mm so glad I'm not alot there.
What other mods are you looking to get done?

Exciting! They're a great car - you're going to have a blast!

The next couple of bits I've got on the way is a K&N Intake kit to get some more rorty induction sound and free it up a little more there, a GFB Blow-Off Valve to give it a little different sound and an upgrade in that area. I'm also doing a resonator delete to give it a bit more volume without going crazy and touching the dump pipe/cat area. Lastly I've got an interior ambient lighting kit as I really enjoyed the coloured interior from my previous vehicle and it feels a bit dark inside at night now compared to what I'm used to! 😂

Haha nice, I'm mid 30s so I won't be going down the interior light kit route but interested to hear how the other mods go and where you get them done.

I'm bang on 30 myself but I've always been a fan of the techy look and feel and the ambient lighting gives me that. Also the C Class I came from had them so im used to it now.

In regards to the other bits and pieces I'm going to be doing them all myself once the parts arrive some time this week. The exhaust work will be at Mr Muffler in Sumner Park who I've used in the past and liked his work.

Yeah sweet.
I grew up in the Redlands and had Skylines growing up, just have no idea who is any good these days in regards to tuning and exhausts. I don't have the patience to work on them myself and no longer own any tools so I'll just be trying to find someone I trust. I'm now in Annerley and had planned to chat with the dealer as they said a number of their mechanics had Modded I30s (moorooka)

There's alot of smart people around with the cars at the moment. Funnily enough I used to work at that exact Hyundai as a salesperson years ago and I'm still in dealerland on the magic mile just not in that one. There's a pretty high chance if you frequent the area you'll see me around. Pretty easy to spot!

Where is the best place to buy wheels these days?

Honestly I haven't bought wheels in ages. I love the standard ones when it's lowered and spaced our a little so I don't intend to change them at this stage.
yeah cool, I was thinking of making some minor cosmetic changes when I pick the car up and was looking for some Bronze /Copper rims. But not moving too far away from the design of the standard rims.

Have you had a look at the rims database on this site? A good starting point for finding stuff you like. I ordered my wheels online from Autocraze in Sydney and they arrived 2 days after I ordered them

No not yet, I'm still finding my way around the site to be honest. Will have a look now.
