Bought a 2021 Sonata N-Line back in Dec 2023 with 3400 miles on it. After watching too many shorts with folks finding GPS trackers in their cars, I did some digging around my car, and found this plugged into the OBD port. Black plug was clipped into the knee bolster panel in the normal location. Car's OBD plug was in the Red connector. White connector is just like the OBD plug. Not sure if the previous owner had a device to monitor engine vitals, or one of those throttle and boost enhancers, or if this was originally a GPS tracker, with no GPS tracker currently plugged in.

The lettering on the white sticker just says "05092022 Rev1 February-15 2023 MingChing"

Not much info on Google that I was able to find via a quick search. Car runs fine so far without it, or more specifically, no CEL or other lights displaying as a result of the removal.OBD2Harness2.jpg

It's an OBD splitter, it doesn't do anything by itself. As you said probably previous owner was using something that needed the OBD port and didn't want to plug/unplug it whenever the port was required for something else.

This is not an OBD2 splitter.
This type of harness is typically used for aftermarket security systems or other devices that require access to the OBD2 port and its data.
