Modified Type R vs modified N

The more I see about our little VN's the more I think I made the right choice. top-end horsepower is cool and all but torque is what you really feel on the street.

Hahah, I was waiting to see how long it would take for someone to notice :p

Yes that's my car. The reviewers were blown away with it's performance in the twisties, and the fact that it held it's own on the straights to a certain degree with very few mods. It was fun watching the N pull away from the Type R in the corners in person lol.

Oh, and my front brake pads were also done when they did this test... checked them the night before and they were at 2mm o_O. It's a night and day difference with new pads/rotors, I'm pretty sure it would've taken up the 4/10ths and possibly even more with a fresh set of brakes up front... Oh well, there's always next time.

I knew that was you car once I saw it.
Good job man!
They like the turn in grip with -3.0 camber. I am at -1.9 and so tempted to do the double camber bolts. Are the bolts staying in place - any slippage?

So far so good, haven't had the bolts move on me yet and I've done 5 track days.

Dont get me wrong. I'm incredibly excited about my i30n fastback, but watching videos like that is a punch to the stomach. Why in the freakin' hell did they decide to not launch the veloster in europe...

Because you have the i30N, we don't! We have the; N-line Elantra which you also have. We will never get the i30N here, as it would be in direct sales competition with the VN.

Inherently, the Veloster was introduced in 2011. It never sold well in Europe or Australia, because of its three door quirkiness. I suppose Hyundai, didn't want to make the same sales error twice.;)

The i30 was also just known as "some family golf'ish hyundai" before the N.
The N specs and driving capabilitys are what lured me to my i30 fastback,
I'm pretty sure with the N on it, the veloster would easily raise the same interest as a modern VW Scirocco :>

I'm jealous! But on the other hand, well... I've got my i30n fb :>

In one of JP Performances Videos with Albert Biermann he stated, that they know about the I30N/VN topic and are thinking about changing the availability for different countries.

There ist still hope.

I’d love to have the fastback here in the states. I’m about 80% sure I’d be willing to trade my baby in for her more practical sister lol
