Hello guys, I am new to this forum.

Not sure if anyone has posted this but I was wondering if there is a general rule regarding how long you should wait after driving a turbo charged engine.

I read 1-2 mins or even 4. Do modern cars or Hyundai's N and Nlines automatically regulate the turbo for a few min after turning the engines off like BMW's?

Hope you guys can help.

You generally don't need to wait at all if you have driven the car a little cold beforehand. Usually, you should simply drive the last few kilometers before you arrive with a light foot on the gas.

Thank you for your reply!
Got it, but if I wanted to be super safe, I could still wait 30 seconds to 1 min.
Waiting 4 min is a bit excessive ?

I wouldn't even wait 30 seconds. If something is really too hot, the fan switches on automatically. But if you really want to be on the safe side, don't wait longer than a minute. If you stand for longer with the engine running, you actually have the opposite effect, because heat builds up under the hood, which would otherwise be carried away by the airstream as you drive.

oo got it thank you !!

Keep in mind that our cars have a separate pump for the turbo cooling that runs even after the cars has been shut off. So if the turbo is not super hot, you should not have to let your car sit at idle before turning it off.
Thank you for the response !
This includes the 2021 N line Sonata?

Just read your conversation and I was wondering don't you have to wait for the turbo to slow down before switching a turbo engine off as well. So as to keep the oil feed going long enough to save it from harm.
Every time I get in my car I switch the stop start
Function off every time for this very reason.
Is this unnecessary??
You mentioned the heat issue but not lubrication does that also have continued feed after switching the engine off??
