Hi all. New member here :)

A quick question - I'm looking to put an order in on an i20n this weekend. Just one thing - i'm a middle-aged man and that spoiler is not to my tastes at all, lol!
How hard would it be to remove?

Does anyone have any pics of the inside where it is mounted so I can assess what needs to be done?
If I have to remove the whole headlining (which looked to be one piece) then it might fall into the too-hard-basket.

Would store away for if I ever wanted to sell, but the sight of it is not something that would ever grow on me!

Any help would be most appreciated!

Looks to be fixed to a fairing panel that I am assuming would be plastic/removable with the hatch open?

I'd check it out for myself, but lack of ability to see them in a car yard means I'm having to guess.

Thanks a heap for that pic :)
I wasn't quite sure if that panel the spoiler appears to sit on was part of the hatch or body shell. This makes it quite clear.

Remove those four plugs and away we go.... or at least, then i'll know what to do next!

Hi! Did u finally remove the rear Spoiler? Can u send a pic and show us the results?

I want to know if there are any holes left when you remove it and how you solved it

Thanks a lot!

Of course there are holes, the fixings go through the metal boot (uh tailgate?) into the spoiler

That's why I'm curious. I would like to know how you have solved it.
i saw someone on i think instagram, that got that whole part removed that the spoiler is attached to, like got it swapped out with the one from the normal i20

Really interested too how this all worked out. I’m in my mid 40’s and can’t really cope with that rear wing. I’ve had the car for almost 3 years (love the car but hate the wing) and have now and then been looking for ways to delete it. All I’ve found are add ons to make it even bigger…

The problem is, as mentioned earlier in this thread, the holes that are left after removing it. I’ve started to explore the possibilities to 3d-print some sort of cover, 4 separate pieces just big enough to have room for a nut and a gasket(?), an O-ring perhaps. If Hyundai (or other company) already sells a smaller wing that has the same mounting it would be much easier of course.

Any info would be much appreciated. Pics, links, ideas or maybe someone with skills to make such a 3d template?

just get the rear part where the spoiler is mounted on, from the normal i20?
it should be the same, and than the spoiler is gone and you have no holes

You mean the whole tailgate/boot/rear door? Or am I missing some part? The standard car, from what I can see, don’t have any additional parts in that area of the door.

just the top part where the spoiler is mounted

That's the tailgate - if you open yours you'll see the plastic bungs hiding the bolts, a full tailgate would have to be swapped over or the holes welded/ filled and painted on the origional

Rather than welding the holes I would try silicone blanking plugs or blanking grommets.
