Has anyone had the mechanism and rubber trim on their sunroof serviced (not sure what the correct term is. greased maybe?) ?
Mine just became 1 year old and I want to give it some love since I use it every single day even in winter. I know it's recommended to do this for Audi sunroofs every year but I can't find Hyundai's guidelines on the issue.
I can always go to an independant shop but I prefer to have my dealer do it so they can't say sh*t if there are issues with it in the future.

I realise this could be a DIY job but I have two left hands when it comes to stuff like this sooooo :D

Very timely post, as I was just thinking the same thing.

On my recent service, I noticed that part of the schedule was to lubricate the door, bonnet and boot hinges and latches. No mention of the sunroof.

When I take my car in to get the crack on the steering wheel fixed in a few weeks, I told the dealer I also want the rubber seals on the sunroof lubricated, as my car is also 1 year old. They said they will do it. I also asked if they can show me exactly how to do this, so I can DIY the job a few times a year. I have a can of Nulon Ezi-Glide silicone spray, and will ask if this is suitable.

I'm not sure about how or where to grease the sunroof mechanism, like maybe the rails. I will also ask the dealer about this.

Lubricate any movable points, tracks that the roof runs in and lifts. You need to use a clear grease.

Tri-Flow TF23004 Clear Synthetic Grease - 3 oz. Tube. Use silicone spray on the rubber guides.

UPDATE

Had my sunroof serviced at the dealer. They cleaned any dirt, grime or leaves they found and lubricated all the rubber.
The total cost was 40 Euro and they did it along with the 30k km service so I didn't notice the extra 30 mins it took them.

*There was nothing wrong with the sunroof. I wanted to get it done because the car is 18months/30000km old.

I recommend this precedure to anyone with the panoramic sunroof option because blocked drainages can cause issues down the line. It's fast, simple and cheap. :)

Take it easy with the silicon and PTFE spray, sand and dirt tends to stick to it + it disappears pretty rapid.
PTFE has a nasty smell too.
Honda has a special type of silicon grease wich they use on all of their rubber sealing strips. Its not super greasy like most silicon products but rather a dry type of grease. I have a tube waiting for me to service my pano roof.

Hey Guys,

i have a question which refers to the panoramic sunroof on the Fastback. While cleaning the roof i only saw the drainage holes in front of the roof. I couldn´t find any holes in the back of the roof (because the roof blocks nearly everthing in the back when its activated). Are there any? Because i also couldn´t find a drainage hole on the wheel arches in the back (in the front you can see them).

Many thanks in advance
