Hey all,

I was changing my oem spark plugs the other day and found that cylinder 1 (passenger side first) had some oil on the spark plug, but the others looked pretty normal. Any idea what could be going on?

Let me know.

Cylinder 1 could be suffering blow by through the piston rings and getting oil on the plugs. Was there oil in the plug hole when you were pulling them out?

In either case, if you haven't replaced the engine already, it might be time to do so as preventative maintenance. Best of luck!

Mileage on vehicle; miles on plugs? Any other issues (unusual oil consumption, blue smoke on start-up)/codes? Likely (with-in) "normal" range. If still under warranty I'd take the plugs in to my dealership and ask them.

1- Good conditions
2- Saturated with oil by the piston problem, rings
3- Need to adjust (cracking) in the new spark plug
4- Evidence that the spark plugs have not been changed for a long time and need to be changed immediately
5- Saturated with lead due to the high percentage of lead in the fuel
6- Saturated with carbon due to poor combustion, you need to check the fuel pump and air filter
7- Due to increase in engine temperature above normal speed, so we checked the system
8- You need to change the type of fuel (for example, instead of 80 gasoline it is 90 or 92 gasoline) or change the valves if it occurred in a short period of time (less miles)
9 - Evidence of a mechanical problem or foreign body in the combustion chamber
