Recently purchased a 5N and absolutely love it! Looking forward to seeing what N Performance parts that become available. Currently my dealer can’t even get me floor mats, lol!
Congrats, Triumvph, the N5 looks stunning in white also (mine is Ecotronic Grey). Managed to get the N floor mats in no time via my dealer (Switzerland-based). Depending on where you are, you might get them on the popular auction site. BTW, the colour mods look great for a more understated look.VRecently purchased a 5N and absolutely love it! I use mine all the time! Just adds to the driving experience. But also nice that I can turn it all off and just enjoy a drive with music or audio book without the noise of an engine. I come from having E36 M3’s that I had to make loud enough to hear on the track with a helmet on, but of course couldn’t turn off the noise when driving on the street. This is the best of both worlds.Looks great! Now, that you have been driving the car for a while: do you use the engine sound and shifting feature or does it become obsolete?
yeah, but if you’ve only heard it in park, you haven’t really heard it. I’m guessing the car you sat in had the volume pegged to 20 too. With the volume around 4-7 and cruising, it’s really well done. Still not “real” per se, but much more believable and the right feedback that EV’s have been missing. Also let’s not forget, this is an N car, it was built with the idea that it could be a weekend track car. If you don’t have sound in a car while driving on a track, it’s really hard to drive. That’s where volume 20 comes in to play with a helmet on.For me, the real issue with the fake rev sound was how fake it sounded. I’m not against it in principal, it’s just that the reality didn’t strike me as very rewarding.
I rarely drive it without the DCT shifts activated. Its a ton of fun!Looks great! Now, that you have been driving the car for a while: do you use the engine sound and shifting feature or does it become obsolete?
Yes, when sitting still the sounds dont really work. But when combined with the physical movement, they are amazing.I sat in one last weekend and found the fake engine sound a bit weird in that it very much sounds like it’s coming out of speakers and there is no vibration to go with it - but I guess you disagree? Perhaps the effect is different when you are actually moving?
I love the jet noise. and the fake engine noise is really well done when on the move, sounds decent.
