I5N Regen figures

Just wondered if anyone could share their regen figures with the I5N? Mine seems low. With all the reviews I've seen there's a lot about how much energy is being put back into the battery. I'm just not seeing it really.

Where do you find this report? Can't find it on the blue link app. 1000000499.png
This is all I can find. Top one is highway and bottom one is a couple launches with hard braking.

Status at the bottom. Then scroll down to Vehicle management and select vehicle report. Once in there click energy consumption top right. 1000011419.png

Here’s mine so far, only a week or so in and mostly work trips on motorway

Thanks. Very interesting figures. A lot better regeneration figures than I'm seeing so will be good to compare when you get a full months worth. What regen setting do you use normally? Auto or a fixed setting and how high do you have it set?

Coming from a Tesla I found Regen level 3 matches what I’m used to, so have left it at that for now… will post again when I’ve some longer term stats

out of curiosity, what does your car state as the available range when fully charged in normal mode?
looked today, wasn't quite fully charged, but it was showing an estimated range of 233 at 97% this morning. I did 190 miles round trip today, approx 185 of which was motorway. This morning in the pouring rain, at mostly 65mph due to traffic/spray and a return journey at normal motorways speeds with a few bits of excitement thrown in for good measure. when I got home the range was showing 40 miles with 19% left, so reasonably accurate I'd say. Early days for me, only 700 miles into it over the last couple of weeks... will keep watching to see how it changes. its certainly a far cry from the Tesla model 3 performance which would regularly tell me it had 298 miles of range and be all done after just shy of 200 in reality.

Thanks for this. Really useful information. My battery consumption is similar however I believe I have a regen/recuperation issue. Doesn't matter what setting I'm in or how I drive I average 6% recuperation. Yours was 29% above. I think it was working fine initially as my range seemed to be about 230-240 with mixed driving but I'm now sat at 200 now consistently and a lot less if I give it the beans, which is basically the lack of energy going back into the battery. I've raised this with Hyundai UK and waiting for a response. Send through another screen shot at the end of the month if you can please. It will support my efforts to get it fixed.

Ps. I still don't fancy a tesla even if it's for more range lol

Will do, there’s another screen I found in settings where you can pick strong normal or mild Regen, I don’t know if that is just another way to pick level1/2/3 like you can on the paddles or something else, I’ve not tested that. On mine it’s set to strong and if it is an independent setting I have level 3 set via the paddles when driving in normal mode.

As for Tesla my 2020 model 3 performance real range was no better than the 5N, the cars estimate is just not realistic. Albeit I expect the new one would be a bit better

Morning - new here!

I've had mine for 2 months today, covered just over 2k. First electric car and what a machine! Went for it as seemed too good to miss out on and the salary sacrifice scheme at work was pretty generous.

In terms of range, I'm between 220-230 on a full battery. Find the estimation very accurate - have ran it down to 4% before (Eco mode, no regen, coasting aplenty and a very light right foot!), although the computers tend to panic heavily under 10%... Usually use Lev 1 regen, but tbh the return is so negligible, I think you're better off with regen off and coasting!

Really hoping to learn from your experiences, any tips and tricks and rumours of updates to software... currently being driven bananas by having to turn off lane assist and speed limit warning every time, although I gather this is standard regulation stuff that is hardwired... other than that, the width and terrible turning circle, couldn't be happier!

How does it compare with yours? Anecdotally I see between 2.6 and 3.1 mi/kwh in regular driving
my consumption is similar but my recuperation none existent really. your getting 25.5% recuperation. I'm getting 6.5%...

I actually get slightly better recuperation figures with regen braking turned off so something doesn't seem right. At the minute you are probably getting about 30-40 extra miles per charge due to recuperation.

I've raised it with Hyundai UK and they have sent all the info to Hyundai technical at Tilbury. I'm still waiting for a response. I'm hoping its an over the air update or something rather than a fault tbh. ML24 VUX Recuperation.jpg

I updated my software today, we seem to lag behind getting the updates in uk. Anyway, finally can turn off the speed warning with the mute button instead of the shortcuts and menus. Not sure if it will fix your issues, I suspect it’s only an infotainment update

How did you update it? Mine just asks about a storage device when I attempt it.

I've enabled over the air updates but don't think it's downloaded any.

Is it a long press of the mute button? As mine just saves an infotainment log when I attempt it.

Yeah you hold down mute and it changes the alerts to display info only rather than bong annoyingly. I didn’t wait for the car to find it over the air as I’m impatient. I downloaded the navigation updater onto the laptop and stuck the update on a usb stick. Plug it into the left hand usb in the car. The update button you mentioned in the car reads it off the usb and updates it.

Nice one I'll give it a go tomorrow. Thank you.
