Hi y'all

I'll be doing the trackday organized by GP Days the 6th of September 2019 on Metter (Belgium). (Link to event page)
It will be my 3rd trackday with the i30 N, first time ever on Mettet.

This will be GP days their first trackday organisation. I saw then popping up right before the summer and saw their facebook posts going through all the paperwork from simple things like getting a VAT nr to more complicated things like having a website where people can pay for their trackday and stuff like that. I thought the price looked very good and there's also a max amount of cars per session, which you can see on their website. I'm curious to see how it will be on the day itself.

Anyone else who's going?

I really dig this track, although I only know it from the former WRX rounds that have been held here. I'll try to keep an eye out for trackdays in the future. It's a bit far from where I live, but maybe it'll fit into my schedule when I am in Trier (Germany) in the future....

It's really tempting considering its only an hour drive away :D

Hey!

Would be really nice if you join us on the 6th! Looking at the registrations at the moment, it's going to be a nice selection of cars and definitely not too many people! So you will have time for a lot of nice free laps!

Let me know if you have any questions regarding this trackday!

So, a little review of this trackday. Better late than never.

GP Days has their stuff together. It was a very familiar cosy atmosphere. Because the track was open from 09h00 - 18h00 with a 1hour lunchbreak nobody was rushed to drive on the track and everyone kept a safe distance. No crazy stuff happened, nobody had to be pulled out of the gravel traps, just here and there there were some spins, but that can happen. The flag marshals were very aware and reacted immediately.
Just after lunch break ppl of course all wanted to go on the track at the same time (me as well ;-)). And I've heard from my dad that the moment the track got too busy they put a cone on pit entry to prevent more cars entering the track. So the organisation is aware and is counting the cars.

The track itself. Mettet is a fun track with lot's of flowing turns. If you mess up 1 turn your entire sector is messed up. Also some lines are hard to see in first instance, I had the luck to be able to drive behind some proper racecar drivers in their BMW and steal some nice lines away, especially the first sector took me a while to figure out.
If you want to go fast and flat out then Mettet isn't your type of track, I didn't touch 5th gear for the entire day.

I would recommend a GP days track day to everyone and I'm looking forward to their 2020 plans.
Here are some pictures from me (first picture) and the FREE GP Days photo service.

For the geeks under us. My cold pressures are 2.3 bar on all 4. By the time I arrived in Mettet it was 2.5 in the front and 2.4 in the rear. During a stint they climbed all the way up to 3.1 in the front and 2.9 in the rear.

To start it is beter to put the tyre pleasure on 1,9 or 2bar
