Damn! I just bought the Bowden's Agent Orange and Vinyl Care for the car. The Agent Orange, because it seems like the previous owner may have used a really shiny cleaner and things seem a little too shiny and oily. :( Oh well. Guess I can use it everywhere but the dash.
Fret not mate - the Bowden's is a great product for everything but the dash and is plastic friendly unlike the Autoglym. No such thing as a crap Bowden's product, just that some others do certain things a little better. And you never need pay full price - it's rare that either Autobarn, Supercheap or Repco will not have it on sale for around 30% off at any one time so check the catalogues and stock up then 😉.

Yes, that 30% off gets me every time so much so I have enough Bowden's Own to last me at least 2 years.
The N is pretty clean and very shiny though. :)

Huge fan of Bowden's, moved from Autoglym to Bowden's. The snow gun is quite handy at times. I'll just be happy to get that shine off most things and put a nice protective layer on the rest of it.

What is the N dash made of anyway? I can't even figure out what type of material / plastic it is. Strangest I've seen in sometime.

You're welcome man. It's good to have another Aussie interested in the detailing side of things on board. I'm over mechanically modifying cars and bikes - spent too many years and too much money doing that and my family is my priority now. But in my free time I just try to keep this thing looking as clean and fresh as I can while enjoying it for what it is straight out of the box. It's my therapy.

Just for fun I've product-tested a huge selection Meguiars, Bowden's Own and Turtle Wax solutions over the last few years and have landed on a selection of each that I keep going back to. I prefer Bowden's because it's Aussie made and owned but other brands do certain things better IMO. So if you're wondering about a certain domestically available product from any of these brands (or others) there's a good chance I've tried it. Feel free to hit me up any time, and you can PM me if you want to ask a thousand questions (I will never get sick of talking about cars and detailing).

Awesome - thanks so much brother.

I will definitely be able to chew your ear off when it comes to detailing!

Let's organise a catch up :)

Thanks @GazmaN, I will give the Autoglym a try on the dash. I really like most Bowden's Own products but the dash of the i30N is one surface that does not like Bowden's IMO
:cool::)
Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care applied to the i30N dash pad today with much better results than Bowden's Own Vinyl Care as promised by @GazmaN. Many thanks. I think this is the only surface of the car that a Bowden's Own product does not excel. Dash pad must be made of some strange stuff. Our 2019 Santa Fe dash loves the Bowden's Own and seems to resist the dust too. Anyway it will be Autoglym on the i30N dash pad from here on in for me.

Been a fair while since you posted some Micron Grey porn pics...just sayin' 😁
Here you go. Just finished the Sunday afternoon wash. Now all ready for the week. :)
Yes, I know the forecast here is rain for most of the week but I can't help myself. I have to clean it. I have a problem I know.
I only wish I knew how to take better photos. It always looks so nice in person and never as nice on the photos. The paint looks an inch deep on the front guards but in the photos it looks almost matte.
Cleaning the car is a great way for me to forget everything though and just listen to the music I have playing and get that N car shining to the best of my ability. It truly is my therapy vehicle. That dash pad looks the best since the Autoglym too. :)

Thank you! Fantastic.

Bonus points for OCD-arranged Bowden's detailing rack and Gerni 1200N 😃
Good spotting. I replaced the old "N" side skirt badges with metal versions (these are really nice) and stuck the old stickers on my shop vac and pressure washer (out of shot). As mentioned I have a problem. The Bowden's Own thing is also a problem. I will give you a pic of the whole shelf unit one day as all you can see here is the top two shelves.
Another pic of the car which looks a little glossier in the photo. Dried off the car with After Glow this time too.

My Bowden's Own addiction for all to see. There are a few "ring-ins" here too.
Nearly all this product bought at 25-30% off sales. Never pay retail for Bowden's Own when you have a Repco or Autobarn shop near you.
Black rubber mats stuck to the wall protect the doors just in case I forget how skinny the garage is.

Anyone got a good tip to remove tint film residue?

Just removed drl tints, the film came off in one piece but I'm left with a crust of residue on the plastic lens

Gtechniq w7 is my usual crud remover and it's hardly touching it!!

Nail polish remover?

I'd try:
1. IPA or nail polish remover
2. Glue remover (the hardcore stuff e.g. Koch Chemie Eulex)
3. A small metal scraper (used to clean ceran cooking fields - be super careful with those!)

In that order.

Try some WD40 first before anything else. It's works wonders on removing all types of glue and doesn't damage the surface. Just spray it on and let it set for 30 seconds or so and wipe it off.:)👍

Has anyone done an engine bay detail with a high pressure water rinse?

I've noticed some areas around the hinges, plastic coverings and painted body parts have a stubborn build of dirt and grime that won't break down even with a light brush agitation.

Use the WD 40 on it with a brush. WD40 is a great tar remover as well. It won't hurt the plastic or the painted surface.
This or any other Engine degreaser, I use Bilt Hamber Surfex HD at a high concentration. Another safe method is a brush and a steam cleaner. Personally I don’t use a pressure washer near the engine bay, just feels too risky.
