Car configuration Options to have enabled by dealer prior to delivery

Hi folks.
I've had a look through the forums but couldn't see a consolidated or definitive list of these things so thought I'd ask here.

I know there are some configuration options that have to be turned on by the dealer, as opposed to things that can be enabled by the user via the in-car settings screen(s).

I'm due to pick up an 2021 i30N manual hatch in a week or so and I'm really keen to build list of (configuration) options that I could (or should) get the dealer to enable prior to pickup of the vehicle.

What would you folk suggest?
I figure it's easier to get them to do it before delivery rather than taking it back to them or wait until the first service.

The dealer advises they are updating the firmware to the latest version which I assume would include the SatNav maps etc.

If I recall properly, there are only two that are of any use.
  • Windows up and down with the keyfob (most cars have only UP enabled by default, while some don't have either). Be advised that not all dealers can enable DOWN. Seems to depend on the software tools they are using.
  • SLIF (atleast I think that was the name). It's the system that recognises street signs and shows them on the gauge cluster screen. Most N's have it enabled by default. Still doesn't hurt to have them check.

Can you not program this yourself, or does the dealer have to do it?

Dealer has to do it, as far as I know. It requires their specialised Hyundai diagnostic tool. I think someone on here had found one for sale and it was quite expensive.

Shouldn’t be a problem for your dealer. Be prepared for “The car doesn’t have that option” and “We can’t do that here”. Go to another dealer if yours is stubborn:D

Correct, and @The_Sentinel I can confirm that Australian dealers can no longer enable the windows down from the key fob - it was removed from the GDS a couple of years ago.

We have a current scantool at our dealership with the old software still installed that can activate the window down function.

Nice! Would you be kind enough to broadcast which dealership you're at so VIC members can take advantage? No good to me unfortunately.

Unfortunately SLIF wasn't enabled on my car when I picked it up on Thursday.
Dealer said they didn't have that option available in their software.
(Asked them to turn on SLIF before delivery).

Does anyone in QLD have the ability to turn this option on??

I am hoping someone knows how to do this with the FaceLift version
