Hey Guys,

since I'm reading here for a few weeks now and enjoying the time very well, I wanted to have a thread about my car and its modifications.

  • i30N Performance polar white
  • model year 2019, picked up 30.10.2018
  • sunroof
  • comfort package
  • navigation package
  • about 15k km now driven
  • home location is at the wonderful lake constance, southern germany

Here are pictures from the pickup date

First thing I have changed was the debadging at the rear, covered the badges in black and wrapped the middle part between sunroof and rear spoiler.

I also got the car on summer tires. As I wanted to drive other rims in summer I decided to fit the stock rims on new winter tires.
I bought the Nexen Winguard Sport 2 in 235/35 R19 and they didn't disappointed me the whole winter.
Lets play hide an seek lol :D

Some little things

Next bigger things I ordered are 114mm exhaust tips and the 35mm h&r springs.

Unfortunately I didn't had the time to install them. So I did other quick things.

Changed the whole car to LED, including the rear and indicator lights. Also the license plate light.

Next thing was the grill frame. I didn't like chrome or silver things so much and as the stock grill frame color is nowhere else on the car, it was clear to change it to gloss black.

At that time we had about march/april so it was time for summer rims.
I bought the following rims already in december 2018.

Motec Ultralight MCR2 in 8.5x19 ET45 in bronze matt.

Unfortunately the manufacturer was not ready for the hype of the rim (weight is only 9.3kg for about 1k €) and the rims are sold out almost all the time. Luckily I found a reseller which had a last set of in stock.

Also used black lug nuts.

Now it was time to install the exhaust tips and the springs.
Installation was not a problem at all. Half day and everything was done.

Car now looks perfectly from the height. It's a little bit more tight than stock springs.

I would say, normal mode with h&r springs is like sport mode with stock springs.
But it's definitely ok. Car on the other hand drives much better, really sticked to the road now.

Exhaust Tips

Last thing I changed was the flex pipe. Now I eliminated the constriction passage from about 58mm to 78mm. It brings more flow, less backpressure and little bit of sound.

For now, that was everything and thats the beauty how she looks at the moment :)

Next things I ordered are some valve caps and the k&n air filter from the Saturn Ion. I read from somebody that it will fit. Otherwise I will buy the filter from the Ford Focus RS. These will also fit with some modifications and violence :D

If everything is delivered I will post some pics and sound videos here.

Said it before and I'll say it again - love the look of this car. If someone can show me a better looking PW, be my guest .

Love this car, the mods you have are exactly what I want to do with the exception of different wheels and no lowering springs. Very tasteful! Where did you get the exhaust tips from?

Thanks. Exhaust tips are from https://www.gruppenzwang.net/

The oem tire pressure sensors fit those Motec Ultralight MCR2 right ?

Yeah. They fit without any problem. Pressure was shown after about 5km driving.

Looks really nice. How do the exhaust tips fit and do they make any difference to the noise?

They fit perfectly. You need to cut the old exhaust tips very flush from the pipes. Then the new ones are fixed with some clamps. Left tip is no problem, right one with the exhaust valve is a little bit tricky because the corner of the pipe is very near.

Sound is quite the same. Not really notable difference. Maybe a little bit more burbles.

Some small things were delivered yesterday.
I've put on the valve caps. Looks very good.

Also placed the scratch protection on the navi. Nice benefit, it's glossy now :)

Last thing was the K&N airfilter (E-0774). Fitting is ok and it's tight inside the box.
Sound with open box is very nice, with box closed it's a little bit more than stock.
Power increase is not really notable, I think it's more a imagination thing.

I will drive around with that now a few days and then decide whether I keep it or not.
Personally I'm looking for an open intake with heatshield. But the law in Germany won't be in agreement in that case :D
