Buying i30n fastback

I want to buy new i30n fastback but i read all the problems that car have. How you deal with problems with i30n car? Reading forms is not good for buying any car. I can not decide buy it or not. Other option is alfa rome Giulia but used one. Help me. decide

What problems did you read about? This forum has been running strong for about 1.5 years and depending on where you started reading, you may have come across something already resolved. The N hatchback has lots of reading material, but there are limited numbers of Fastback N owners. Ensure your search limits results to the Fastback. I'm sure a few can speak up, but can't recall any 'Don't buy because...' comments.

You are right though, car forums are often filled with 'horror stories', but they are the minority in the big scheme (usually) and often just cries for help or advice (which you will get on this forum). And you can only say "this car is awesome" so many times before it gets boring, thus the negative comments can end up standing out.

Follow @BadShadd's advice though, and I hope you make a choice that will make you happy in the long run regardless of what it is.

I´am also into buying Fastback N. It just got released here in Sweden. Or i found one online in Stockholm Hyundai dealer . Nothing on the swedish Hyundai website. I will visit Hyundai dealer in my town tomorrow after work and see if they can order one and how long waiting time there is. The one i found online cost 30000€. That´s a lot! For the same price you can get standard Civic Type R or extra equiped Leon Cupra ST. We also have new taxes where new cars after middle of 2018 cost extra depending on emissions so Fastback N is 700€/years in taxes alone the next three years. After that the tax go down to 300€/year or something like that. So the question is if i30N/Fastback N is worth the price? I probably will get one

Modern cars are becoming like a laptop with wheels. There is no guarantee X brand will be safer than others. Look at those BMW recalls..

I guess a general rule of thumb is the most trouble-less cars are ones made in Japan ( not Japanese brands made in europe)

Italian cars made in Italy, and french cars made in france, are definitely risky investments.

It's a great daily driver, you won't regret buying one, you will often find yourself grinning whilst driving, so much fun to be had!

I have noticed today a Fastback does not have a rear wiper. That alone would be a deal killer. Remember those Honda Civics with the double decker tailgates?

Oh, how did she get the suede steering wheel?!! I found a company inthe UK who repairs and do bespoke steering wheels and they said the suede can affect the heat element from the heated wheel.

so gutted because the N 's fake leather is too slippery . I have naturally dry hands so have to grip harder.

The alcantara steering wheel is custom made. You are looking at a special edition of the N called SMN300. That version was produced by the german tuner "Simon Motorsport" for a german Hyundai dealer called "Torpedo Gruppe".

this German company is in the same position as the UK company i contacted before. First they need my steering wheel , which is not possible because i don't know how to remove it. Secondly, I offered to leave the car with them for however long, but they could not house a car. Finally, I have heated steering wheel ( part of the winter pack), so they said the heat may affect the alcantara.

So in the end, i have not done anything.

In Germany you don't even have the option to order the N with the heated steering wheel. So I would guess Zymexx as well as the guys from Simon Motorsport have been aware of that.

Not sure how they handled the situation tho...

Here we go. Yesterday i drive a Hyundai i30n 275hp. What a car. In our country SLO Hyundai i30n basic 250hp is around 29.000€. But calculation for this car is not so good. 5 tanks of gasoline in one month - 400€ * 12€ = 4800 in one year * 10 years = 48000€ + 30000€ for the car= 80.000€ cca + insurance + tyres + service = total 100.000€ in 10 years. This is insane. But car is "insane". Maybe others have better calculation. :-(
